Clear terms for using the WIBC platform.
These Terms govern your access to and use of the WIBC platform, including the website, applicant account, Business Health Check, competition application process, pitch video submissions, programme communications and ticket purchases.
Effective date: 1 July 2026
These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of the Women in Business Competition (WIBC) platform, owned and operated by The SME Mall (the “Organiser”, “we”, “our” or “us”). By accessing or using the WIBC platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Eligibility
By creating an account or submitting an application, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate and complete.
- You must be a woman who is at least 18 years old and above, or otherwise legally eligible to participate in WIBC programmes.
- Be a Nigerian citizen, resident or otherwise meet the published location requirement.
- Be the founder, owner or authorised leader of the entered business.
- Provide accurate and complete information.
- Complete the BHC and all required application stages.
- Be available for webinars (if required), reviews and the Grand Finale.
- Meet any business-stage, sector or registration requirement published for the current competition.
2. Your account
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities carried out through your account. WIBC reserves the right to suspend or terminate any account that contains false information or is used in violation of these Terms.
3. Business Health Check
The Business Health Check is provided to help applicants assess aspects of their business. Any report, recommendation or feedback generated is for informational purposes only and does not constitute legal, financial, tax or investment advice.
4. Competition applications
Submitting an application does not guarantee selection or participation in any WIBC programme. Applicants must meet all eligibility requirements and comply with the Competition Rules published on the website.
5. Payments
Fees paid for the Business Health Check, applications (where applicable) and tickets are subject to our Refund Policy. Payments are securely processed through authorised third-party payment providers. Before paying you will be shown the service or ticket being purchased, the amount payable, what the payment covers, any important conditions and available support information. Where payment is successful but access is not activated, contact us with your payment reference so we can investigate.
6. Intellectual property
All content on the WIBC website, including text, graphics, logos, images and software, is owned by or licensed to WIBC and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute or use our content without prior written permission.
You retain ownership of the business plans, pitch decks, videos and other materials you submit. By submitting them, you grant WIBC a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use them solely for administering the competition, judging submissions, promoting WIBC programmes and announcing results.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Provide false or misleading information.
- Upload unlawful, offensive or infringing content.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the website or another user’s account.
- Interfere with the operation or security of the website.
- Use the website for any unlawful purpose.
8. Suspension and termination
WIBC may suspend or terminate your access to the website or any programme if you breach these Terms, provide false information, engage in fraudulent or unethical conduct, or otherwise compromise the integrity of the platform.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, WIBC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from your use of the website, participation in the competition, or reliance on information provided through our services.
10. Changes to the services
We may update, modify or discontinue any part of our website or services at any time without prior notice where reasonably necessary.
11. Governing law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
